Day 01: Arrival in Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, you will be met and transported to your hotel. After your overseas flight, you can relax during the remainder of the afternoon and evening. For dinner, you may eat in the hotel or explore local restaurants.

Day 02: Beijing

Your first day of touring in our capital city will begin with strolling across the Tiananmen Square - the largest and most imposing public square in the world. Through the Meridian Gate on the north side of the square, you will enter the fabled Forbidden City to appreciate its majesty and magnificence. In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven where the emperor, twice each year, would visit to thank the Gods for a good harvest and pray for the new one. To complement a memorable start to your tour, you will have Beijing Duck Dinner at the famous century-old Quan Ju De restaurant followed by a fascinating Peking Opera performance. (B, L, D)

Day 03: Beijing

You will follow the Chinese saying "you are not a real human being until you climb up on the great wall” at the Badaling Great Wall of China, more than 2, 500 years old. The wall was constructed to protect China from the savage Northern tribes. The wall contruction was initiated in 200 B.C. during the Qin Dynasty and was finished around the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty, which lasted for 10 dynasties.   After the Great Wall, you will visit Dingling, one of the Ming Tombs – the burial site of royalty during the Ming Dynasty.   It took 10 years from Dingling's discovery develop the site. Entrance to this sacred burial ground is via the Sacred Way, an avenue where large animal statues stand guard.  (B, L, D)

Day 04: Beijing - ChengDu

You will be transported to the airport for your flight to ChengDu, Capital of SiChuan Province, home of the famous giant pandas and the fabled gateway to Tibet. Upon your arrival, will then be transported to your hotel and relax for the remainder of the afternoon and evening.

Day 05: ChengDu

You will be sightseeing. Highlights include Dufu Cottage and Baoguangsi Monastery. (B, L, D)

Day 06: ChengDu - Lhasa

You will fly to Lhasa, capital of Tibet and center of mystical Tibetan Buddhism. You'll be free this afternoon at the hotel to relax and adjust to the altitude.

Day 07: Lhasa

A full day of sightseeing includes the Jokhang Temple, local bazaar and Lhasa Summer Palace(B, L, D)

Day 08: Lhasa

Highlight of your visit to Lhasa will be your morning tour of the Potala Palace, the 1000-room former home of the Dalai Lama. Visit a typical Tibetan monastery this afternoon. (B, L, D)

Day 09: Lhasa - ChengDu

Return via air to Chengdu, where you'll enjoy more sightseeing in this fascinating city as time allows.

Day 10: ChengDu – ChongQing

You will be transported to the bus station, and then take a 4-hour trip to ChongQing by bus, where you will be picked up and transported to your hotel.

Day 11: ChongQing

You will board a deluxe cruise ship.

 

Day 12 : Ghost City of FengdDu

You will visit the Ghost City of Fengdu. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Xiling Gorge - YiChang

Take a small junk to enjoy the marvelous spectacles of the nature in the Shennong Stream. We will enter the Xiling Gorge and pass the five-step ship lock at the Three Gorges Dam. (B, L, D)

Day 14: YiChang - Wuhan

Disembark for an excursion to the new and still under construction Three Gorges Dam. You will spend 2 hours there. Afterwards, you will take a bus to Wuhan and be transported to the hotel.

Day 15: Wuhan – Shanghai

You will visit the Yellow Crane Tower. You will take a flight to Shanghai and be met and transported to your hotel. (B, L) (4-star: Shanghai Mansion; 5-star: Shanghai Hilton)

Day 16: Shanghai

You will see the modern leading city of China. At the Shanghai Museum, you will see beauty firsthand. The museum's displays show Chinese art from ceramics to jade to furniture. After experiencing Shanghai's past, you will see Shanghai's future at the TV Tower of Oriental Pearl - the world's third tallest TV tower. The remaining time is for you to enjoy the magnificent views of the City's Old Bund, its European architecture and the Yuyuan Garden. In the evening, you will be treated to a magnificent Acrobatic Show. (B, L, D)

Day 17: Departure from Shanghai

Having completed your memorable China tour, today you will be transported to the airport for your flight home. (B)
